Celebrate the Launch of In Winter's Kitchen!

Raise a glass and enjoy the best food on offer from local growers and makers, as we gather for an evening to celebrate Beth Dooley’s In Winter’s Kitchen from Milkweed Editions. Join us for a brief reading from the book, continue the conversation off the page, and find out for yourself just how delicious local food can be.

 Telling the story of one locally-sourced Thanksgiving meal, this new book is itself a celebration of the people behind the Heartland’s food movement: a rich ecosystem of farmers, artisanal producers, and restaurateurs that has been proving for decades that even in a place with a short growing season, food grown locally and organically can be healthy, community-based, environmentally conscious, and delicious.

 

Birchwood Cafe Cookbook Launch Party!

Join Beth at The Birchwood Cafe to celebrate the first-ever, just-released "The Birchwood Cafe Cookbook: Good Real Food" with authors Tracy Singleton, Marshall Paulsen, and Mette Nielsen.

Enjoy snacks and sips, including current seasonal recipes from the book, along with Surly Brewing Co. beer and organic wine. Be there at 6:30 PM or 8:00 PM to hear from the authors themselves and purchase a signed copy of the cookbook, published locally by the University of Minnesota Press.

SIGNED COPIES will be available at this event or online through October 22, 2015.
